The Story
A student was going into foster care and did not have all of their basic needs covered. They came to the social worker to simply ask if there was anything available. Thanks to our donations, the social worker was able to provide the student with the necessary items, and they went about the rest of their day without worry.

It is an incredible feeling when I can say, “Yes! We can help more people!” Thanks to a partner obtaining a start off grant for us, what started as an idea to assist a few students at Tartan High School is growing into a means of reaching teens of the whole school district. I’m on the lookout for more partners to make the broader impact sustainable. If you are not familiar with NorthStar Youth Center, they serve teens in our school district, many of whom are homeless. A homeless (or couch surfing) teen may not inform their school administration or social worker because not having a way to prove residence in the district puts them further at risk of being disconnected from the community and services.
