Heartwood Church engages in strategic partnerships to grow community to connect people to life.

To reach the full demographics of our community, Heartwood Church partners with other local congregations, all using the same facility and coming together as we can for ministry and community. Shekinah Church is a Spanish language congregation and Everlasting City Church is a Hmong language congregation. Jesus taught that his followers should come from people of all nations. Here a person can find community with people who speak their language, and learn, and work, with, and from, people of other cultures.
Heartwood Church partners with First Care to support strong family life in our community. First Care provides free parenting supplies (such as diapers, wipes, clothing, and equipment), parent education classes, STD testing, and adoption services. Their clients are 25% Hispanic/Latino, 21% African American, 19% Caucasian and 8% Asian, thus they are serving the most vulnerable demographics in our community. Jesus valued children and taught that his followers should help those in need. Join this effort by volunteering at First Care or participating in one of our supplies drives.
Heartwood Church partners with community leaders to support the health our teen neighbors at Tartan High School, North High School, and NorthStar Youth Center. Washington County statistics for families who qualify for free and reduced lunch are 17.7%, but for our school district, ISD-622, 43.8% of families qualify. Jesus teaches us to do good to our neighbors. Heartwood Church works with the school social workers and community partners to provide hygiene products, taking the first step to meet the need and then working to reduce the need. Join this effort by becoming a community partner, participating in shopping or delivery, or writing thank you notes.
Heartwood Church partners with generous community leaders who give back to the community. The Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce strives to connect the local businesses within the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities to the community with the goals of expanding business while supporting the people who support our businesses. Businesses will be healthy when the whole community is healthy. Jesus taught and modeled generosity. Join this effort by having your local business join the chamber.

Heartwood Church partners with and prays for our local government so that everyone in our community has the opportunity to live a peaceful life. The Apostle Paul taught that this is pleasing to Jesus our Savior. The City of Oakdale is located east of Saint Paul and Washington County spans to the Wisconsin boarder. Get involved by attending public meetings, or joining a commission or council.

Heartwood Church partners with St. Paul’s Monastery and Transform Minnesota to meet the spiritual needs of our community. The monastery is a Community of Benedictine Sisters, Oblates, volunteers, and friends across denominations who serve in parish leadership, healthcare, education, pastoral care, and in various social justice initiatives, expressed through Benedictine values. Transform Minnesota is a network of churches that provides a space for pastors and Christian leaders to wrestle through complex issues from a Biblical perspective. We work with these partners because the Apostle Paul taught that Jesus has one church. A easy way to get connected with the monastery is praying with the community, or with Transform Minnesota by attending one of their events.
